Before proceeding, did your accountant encounter any error messages while trying to access your company file? Any additional information they can provide would be valuable in helping me investigate this further.
Then, you'll want to review if they're successfully added to your company file. To verify, follow the steps below:
- Go to Gear icon ⚙, then select Manage users.
- Select the Accountants or Accounting Firms tab.
- Verify if the accountant is successfully added to your company file.

If the accountant user is set up correctly but continues to encounter the same problem, suggest that they attempt to open the account in a private browser. Unexpected issues in the program can sometimes be influenced by the data stored in the cache. Regular browsers tend to overwrite themselves and retain history unless manually cleared.
Use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:
- Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
- Safari: press Command + Shift + N
If the company file is showing , clear the cache to resolve browser issues in QBO. You can also use a different browser and see if the problem persists there.
