Selected period for trail balance but amount not right.

When I make a trial balance report for period (1/07/2023 to 30/06/2024), instead the numbers showing up are the last six months. I only discovered this because the numbers seemed extremely high for a 3 month period.
I click on run report after setting the dates, My financial year is 30 September. Our audit check period is Jul-Jun. Trial balance did not run according to selected period but run only for the 9 months. I checked the community this issue was brought up in Year 2020 but till now 4 years, issue has not been resolved?

Let's figure things out by checking the necessary information on your Trial Balance report, Mary. 

 

One potential cause of your Trial Balance report not showing the selected period is the account you run. That said, your report may differ in the accounting method. If everything's correct, such as the reporting period, accounting method, and all the necessary details, I suggest opening your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window. Doing this will prevent your history from being saved.

 

You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

 

  • Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Once done, open the report again. If it loads successfully, switch back to your regular browser and then, clear its cache. By doing this, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can alternatively use a different supported one.
