Can quickbooks add interest on overdue accounts automatically?

Thanks for joining the Community forum and sharing your concern about adding interest automatically on overdue accounts. I've got you! I have some insight and guidelines that could help you this way around.

By overdue accounts, do you mean invoices? If yes, you can only manually add the interest on the late transactions. You can create or set up the interest as a service item in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Products and Services.

  2. Click on New and select Service.
  3. Enter the name of the item and choose an income account.
  4. You can also enter the rate of the item.
  5. Click on Save and close once done.

I'm adding these articles you can use in the future as you go to the tasks in QBO:

With that information and guidelines, you can add interest on overdue accounts. I'll be around if you have further questions about interest on your invoices or any Quickbooks-related concerns. Stay safe!
