Thanks for posting here in the Community space, @Stiens1. Let me help you update bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, you can manually or automatically update bank accounts to have the latest transactions on a date. To manually update, you can follow the steps below:

  1. From Transactions, click Bank transactions.
  2. Hit Update.
  3. In updating account information, you may be prompted to enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials. These credentials are an additional security precaution that may require more than just your username and password. It is important to note that you must enter your MFA credentials within 2 minutes of being prompted.

However, if it is not working for you, it is recommended that you check the bank account page for any messages that may require your confirmation or agreement to proceed with the connection. If none, you may contact our support team for further assistance. Our support team has the expertise and tools to help you investigate this matter.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In your QuickBooks, click Help (?).
  2. Select either of these tabs:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

On the other hand, you can also see this link as a guide in setting up bank rules to categorize online banking in QBO: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have more questions about updating a bank account in QBO. I'm here to assist. Take care!
