How do I fix the beginning balance of my bank account that is off in order to finish reconciliation?

Let's make sure to fix your beginning balance so you can reconcile your account, ezmari.

Before we start, may I know if this is your first time reconciling an account? In most cases, beginning balance issues are caused by an incorrect opening balance if reconciling for the first time. You can edit it through the Account History and enter the correct one. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click the Gear ⚙️ icon and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account, then go to the Action column and select Account history.
  3. Find the opening balance entry. Tip: If you've got the Date column sorted from newest to oldest, the opening balance entry may be at the end of the list.
  4. Select the opening balance entry.
  5. Edit the amount. Tip: If you're not able to edit the amount directly on this screen, in some cases you can edit by selecting the Edit ✎ icon.
  6. Click Save

If not, you'll have to double-check the Reconciliation HIstory then make sure to fix the difference. Here's how.

  1. On the reconcile page, click the drop-down arrow beside the Save for later button.
  2. Select Finish now.
  3. Click Add Adjustment and finish
