How do you capture a settlement discount ?

It's good to see you here in the Community, @reynardc-emtsa-c.

You can set up invoice terms and turn on the discount feature in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. This way, you can capture a settlement discount for early payment of an invoiced amount. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  3. Select Sales from the left menu.
  4. Go to the Sales from content section and select your Preferred invoice terms
  5. Put a checkmark on the Discount checkbox.
  6. Click Save, then select Done.

Once done, you can apply the discount to your customer's invoice or sales receipt. I'll show you how.

  1. Click the + New button, then select Invoice or Sales receipt.
  2. Select the customer from the drop-down.
  3. Choose the Terms and enter the necessary information.
  4. Select either Discount percentage or Discount value.
  5. Enter the amount you want to discount in the Discount field.
  6. Click Save.

I'm adding this article for more guidance: Add a discount to an invoice or sales receipt in QuickBooks Online.

After that, you can record the early payment of your customer by receiving the payment. To learn more about this process, visit this article: Record Invoice Payments.

Let me know if you need more assistance with this. I'll be right here to help if you need further assistance, @reynardc-emtsa-c.
