Disconnecting a link to your bank in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is easy, and I'm here to show you how, @darylbenecke-gma.
When you disconnect your account to online banking, this just stops QuickBooks from downloading your new transactions. Your existing accounting data won't change and can reconnect it any time to start downloading transactions again.
Before we start, I encourage you to categorise and/or match your transactions in the For review tab. This is because QuickBooks deletes them when you disconnect your link to your bank. For those that are older than 90 days, you won't be able to download them again. Then, it's important not to pursue the process if you see a bank connection error. This may download duplicate transactions when you reconnect. Instead, follow the steps to fix online banking errors.
Once you're ready to disconnect, follow these steps:
I've attached a screenshot below for your reference.
Also, I'd recommend reconciling your accounts every month. This will help you monitor your income, expenses, and detect any possible errors accordingly. For the step-by-step guide, you can check out this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
If you have other banking concerns or inquiries about managing your transactions in QBO, please don't hesitate to let me know. Drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care always.
