I appreciate you for providing the details of your concern, @kwolhuter. I’m here to help you link your QuickBooks Online account to Standard Bank.

You’ll want to access your online banking account from your bank’s URL. From there, you can check if there’s an ongoing system maintenance. It can also be any notifications that needs your attention.

You can also try other listed versions of your bank’s name. Another option is copying your bank’s link and paste it into the Search box.

I've replicated this on my test file and I've verified that it works fine. If you’re still unable to link them and it's still greyed out on your end, it could be the browser’s cache that prevents you from doing so. To fix this, we'll need to perform some troubleshooting steps.

Let’s start with using an incognito browser or private mode. This way, we can see if it's related to the cache and cookies gathered while browsing. Please refer to the shortcut keys below:

  • For Google Chrome, press Ctrl+ Shift + N.
  • For Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Safari, press Command + Shift + N.

Once done, log in to your QuickBooks account again and try to link it with the Standard bank. If this works, you’ll need to clear your browser’s cache and cookies to refresh the system. Otherwise, you can switch to other browsers to see if the problem is with the one you're currently using.

You can read about finding your bank account when you connect to online banking to learn the possible reasons why you’re unable to do so. On the same article, you’ll see the detailed process on how we can locate the right bank.

For future reference, I’ve added these guides to help you with managing your bank transactions:
