We know it is important to stay in the know about what’s new in QuickBooks Online. That’s why we are here to share the latest and greatest developments personalised for our South African Customers.

Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online

Introducing Receipt Capture in QuickBooks Online South Africa. We make it easy to upload your receipts and bills from your computer or mobile device. After you upload your receipt or bill, QuickBooks extracts info from it and creates a transaction for you to review. Then, you can edit the receipt or bill, add it to an account, or match it to an existing transaction in the Receipts tab.

Quick-Tip: We don’t recommend uploading receipts or bills with sensitive or personal info, like credit card numbers and government identifiers.

QuickBooks supports PDF,  JPEG, JPG, GIF, and PNG images. If you have a newer iPhone or iPad, your images might be in the HEIC format. You can convert HEIC images to a compatible format.

I have a problem with downloading my transactions AGAIN from Standard bank.

Last downloaded on 12 May 2022. Since then getting error 102.

I get notification(sms) from the bank that QBooks is signing into my bank account but no transactions is downloading.

How can I solve this?

Move to another bank. I do not have problems with FNB

Let's make sure you'll be able to download transactions from your bank, Eta1.

In general, you'll get error 102 if your bank's website is undergoing maintenance that may have been the cause of server issues. You can manually update your bank transactions to refresh the connection by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Banking, then select the Banking tab.
  2. Click Update.

If it's not updating, double-check your bank's website if everything is working fine. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.  If you can't sign in, reach out to your bank or credit card company about the next steps.
  2. Look for any messages, notifications, or alerts. This should tell you if something isn't working.
  3. Review your account pages, account history, and transactions. If you can't see these, there may be connection issues.

However, if it's still not downloading, I recommend reaching out to our support team to investigate further. They have tools to pull up your account in a secure environment. They can also check if there are also other users who are experiencing the same. I've provided the steps below how you can contact them:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter your concern.
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

In the meantime, you can manually download your transactions from your bank and upload them to QuickBooks while waiting for the automatic download to work. I've added this article for more details: Manually Upload Transactions In QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other concerns about downloading bank transactions. I'll always be right here to help you any time of the day.
