Can I see void invoices somewhere? Does the system allow me to keep tabs on voices that was not taken up?

Keeping track of void invoices and failed sales is essential for maintaining accurate records and understanding your business better, africangoldcarp1. I'm here to help you locate the failed and voided invoices.

It seems that you're referring to invoices that weren't paid by your customers when you mentioned failed sales. Moreover, there's a way for us to track them. You can run either of the Accounts receivable ageing reports in QBO to track invoices that weren't paid or failed sales.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the Who owes you section, select Accounts receivable ageing summary or Account receivable ageing detail report. (Customise the report as needed).
  3. If you want to see how long each transaction is past due:
  4. Select Customise.
  5. In the Rows/Columns section, select the Past Due checkbox. This is optional.
  6. Select Run report.

If the invoices will not be paid by the customers, it’s crucial to record them as bad debt to keep your accounts receivable and net income accurate. For guidance on how to write off bad debts in QuickBooks Online, you can refer to this article: Write off bad debts in QuickBooks Online.

If the invoices you mentioned were inadvertently voided, it's crucial to restore them because voiding invoices sets their amounts to zero. Restoring them will allow us to track which invoices remain unpaid. To do this, we need to re-enter the amounts of the voided invoices using the details available in the Audit log. Please follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to the Sales Tab.
  2. Select Invoices.
  3. Scroll down and adjust the Status and Date filters to find your voided invoices.
  4. On another browser tab, access QBO once more.
  5. Go to the Gear icon. Then, select Audit log.
  6. From the Events drop-down list, choose Deleted/Voided transactions.
  7. Click Edit for each invoice to reenter their previous amount.
  8. To know what to enter, refer to the Audit log from the other browser tab by clicking on View from the HISTORY column.
