Hi, @GeorgeMacD.

I'll be glad to assist you today. To verify, are you referring to the custom fields? If so, you can view them by following these steps below.

  1. Go to Gear.
  2. Select All Lists under Lists.
  3. Tap the Custom Fields link.

For more information about lists, check out this guide: How to add custom fields to sales forms and purchase orders.

I'm also adding this link in case you need help with other QuickBooks-related tasks. It has our general topics with articles. Just look for a title that'll fit your concern: View all help for QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you're referring to something else or if you need help with name lists. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a good one.

Thanks for responding.

I'm not talking about custom fields - which I find restrictive in that there are only two allowed to be active at any one time.

I'm referring to the actual names given to fields within the structure of the database. For example if one wants to personalise a system email one can add [First Name] or [Full Name] or a few customer fields:

I want to know if I can add other fields from invoices (example, document total; special fields like Class or Location within the body of the mailer.

Thanks

George

I appreciate you getting back to us and providing clarification on your concern, @GeorgeMacD.

Allow me to share information about adding other fields within the body of the email of an invoice.

At this time, you can only select the fields showing from the drop-down when customizing email messages. Thus, adding custom fields within the body of the email isn't available.

I can see that this option would help you personalise your email messages by adding custom fields. While this feature isn't available, I suggest submitting feedback directly to our product engineers. This way, they can review your request and add it to the future update. To submit feedback, you can go to the Gear icon and select Feedback. Then, enter your suggestion and click Submit.

You may also want to view the status of your sales transactions in your QuickBooks Online. You can go to the Sales menu and select All Sales.

We're always here to listen if you have concerns regarding other features. You're welcome to post again or leave a reply below.
