Multiple trading names

Hello, Liza.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand you are looking for a way to handle multiple trading names in QuickBooks Online. I'm here to assist you with this matter.

Unfortunately, QuickBooks Online has no specific feature to handle multiple trading names within a single account. However, there is a workaround that you can utilize to achieve a similar result. You can manually change the Company name in your Account and settings to reflect the Trading name you want to use. This will allow the trading name to appear on your sales forms, such as invoices and receipts.

To change the company name and use the trading name, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click on the Gear icon in the screen's top right corner.
  3. Select Account and Settings.
  4. Navigate to the Company tab.
  5. In the Company name field, update the name to your desired trading name.
  6. Save your changes.

Updating the company name to your trading name will be displayed on your sales forms, providing consistency and clarity to your customers. This workaround may offer different functionality than you want, but it will help ensure your trading name is visible to your customers on the sales forms.
