My Home currency is ZAR but number format is displayed as $?

Welcome to the Community, Andries.

Let me share information on solving the home currency problem you're currently experiencing here in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

First, ensure that your home currency is set to South Africa by checking into your Account Settings, then click Advance and check the Currency tab

After verifying the settings and ensuring that they were properly applied. Let’s perform a troubleshooting step to help you solve this matter.

Start by logging out of your QBO account on your current browser, and then log in on a different browser using a private or incognito window. This will ensure that any changes made in the previous browser session are applied seamlessly to your account.

You can use these keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

From there, check if your number format has followed your home currency format. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Browsers tend to store some information called cache that may cause your website to run slow.

You can also check this article for your future reference about commonly asked questions about multi-currency in QBO: Multi-currency FAQ.

Feel free to let us know if you have other concerns about the multi-currency features of QBO. I’ll be happy to assist you at any time. Have a happy holiday!
