When I apply a payment to an invoice it applies the incorrect amount. It says correct amount saved - when I go back & check the invoice a random amount has been applied?

It's crucial to keep accurate records and investigate any discrepancies to maintain the integrity of your sales records. To get started, let's verify if you have any credits or overpayments that could be affecting the invoice you're working with. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Head to the Invoices tab, then open the invoice.
  3. Click the Payments made link at the top right corner.
  4. Take note of the amounts, then clear the credit as needed.
  5. Hit Save and close.

However, if there's none, open your account through a private window. The program saves internet files to load the pages faster, but over time, they get outdated and corrupted causing unexpected behaviors. This mode prevents internet files from being stored in the system. Use these keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

If that works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache and cookies to get rid of the junk files. Switching to other supported browsers can help further isolate the problem too.
