A construction company - inventory

Hello, @executive-bongan.

It's nice to have you in the Community. I'd be delighted to assist you with creating inventory in QuickBooks Online.

You can use Category or Class tracking features in QuickBooks Online to separate the recoding of your inventory branches. In this way, your product and services will put into one group.

If this is your first time, let's turn on first the feature. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the upper right.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Choose Sales on the left menu.
  4. In the Product and services section, click the pencil icon on the right.
  5. Hit the radio button beside Show Product/Service column on sales formsTrack quantity and price/rate, and Track stock quantity on hand.
  6. Tap Save, then Done.

After that, we'll need to create an inventory account that will serve as the head account of the three branches.

Here's how:

  1. Click Sales on the left side, then choose Product and Services
  2. Hit the drop-down arrow beside More, then select Manage categories.
  3. Choose the New Category tab.
  4. Enter Inventory name in the field, then tap Save

Once done, go back to the product and services page to create the branches.

  1. Click the New tab.
  2. Choose Inventory, then type inventory name (inventory per vehicle).
  3. In the Category drop-down arrow, select the category you created.
  4. Complete the needed information.
  5. Press Save and close
