Welcome to the Community, Cindy.

Let me share insights regarding adding your client reference number or the matter info in your statements in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

The client reference number can only be included in invoices, thus making it unavailable in your statements. Furthermore, if the matter info you're looking for is the financial charges your customer is about to pay. You can personalize your statements with a detailed list of the charges.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose the Sales tab.
  3. In the Statements section, click on the pencil ✎ icon to edit.
  4. Toggle to turn on the Show aging table at the bottom of the statement.
  5. Select List each transaction including all detail lines.
  6. Once done, select Save.

Moreover, if you meant something else with the matter info, don't hesitate to return to us with additional inquiries. I'll be sure to address them as soon as possible.
