Hi, I am new to this and need help with the sign in/log in. I would rather input a password than have a verification code sent to firstly my phone and then my email.

Welcome to the Community, acarter439.

I'd be glad to help you provide information for you to enter only the password upon signing in.

You can turn off the two-step verification code, but please note that if you opt out of this feature, we'll still ask you to verify the first time you sign in on an unrecognized device.

If you're still using the same phone number, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit Account.
  2. Select Sign in & security, then select 2-step verification.
  3. Turn off the Use 2-step verification switch.
  4. Enter your account password, and then click Continue.

However, if you're using a different phone number. You'll first have to update your phone number so you can sign in to your account. Once it's updated, you can then turn off the two-step verification. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Complete the Email Change Request form. Note: Make sure to enter your new phone number in the Recovery Number field.
  2. Attach a copy of any of your photo ID forms by selecting Browse, find and choose the file, and then click Open.
  3. Once the file is uploaded, select Submit.
  4. Then, once you receive a notification that your phone number is updated, sign in to your Intuit account.
  5. From the left menu, select Sign in & security.
  6. Select the 2-step verification section, then toggle the Use 2-step verification switch to off.
  7. Enter the code, and then click Continue.

For more information about multi-factor authentication, refer to this article: Verify your QBO account with multi-factor.

I'll also add this article to guide you in changing your user ID, password, email address, or phone number for security reasons: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have follow-up questions about turning off the verification code. I will answer them in any possible way.
