We are trying to connect our Standard Bank Business Online account to QB, but we always get the response "no response, try again later".

Hello, Paddy. Upon checking here, we haven't received similar cases or issues about connecting Standard Business Bank to QuickBooks Online. Let's work together so you can connect your business bank account seamlessly.

The message "no response, try again later" means there was an unexpected error preventing the connection to the bank. This could be due to system or maintenance issues on your financial institution's end. To verify this, I recommend accessing the bank's online portal to check for any alerts or maintenance notifications.

For now, you can consider manually importing your transactions into the system. To start, request a CSV file of from your bank. I'll write down the steps to get you going:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow the instructions provided to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer; note that each financial institution may have different steps.
  3. Ensure that the date range for the download starts at least one day before your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions and save the file in a location where you can easily find it, such as your computer's desktop.

Now, review the file format and size. Then, let's upload it to the system:

  1. Head to the Transactions page, then Bank Transactions.
  2. Click the Link account dropdown, then Upload from file.
  3. Drag and drop or select files. Pick the file you downloaded from your bank. Click Continue.
  4. Select the account to which you want to upload the transactions in the QuickBooks account dropdown. Add new if necessary. Press Continue.
  5. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then Continue.
  6. Choose the transactions you would like to import and Continue.
  7. Hit Yes. When you accept it, click Done.
