Thank you for posting here in the Community page, jenny106. There are two possibilities regarding which names you are going to change in a credit note. It could be the name label on the system/printed form, or the customer's name within an existing credit note.
If you are referring to changing the label name on the system or when printing the credit note, the option is currently unavailable. The UI within the software is hard-coded and cannot be changed, there is also no customization available for changing labels on printed credit notes. Those options are only possible for invoices, quotes, sales receipts, and sales orders.
However, if you mean to change a customer's name within a credit note, you can do this by going to Sales & get paid and choosing Sales transactions. Look for the specific credit note, click the Send dropdown menu, select View/Edit, and change the customer name from the dropdown list.
