Hi My account is set with Home Currency in South African Rand. However, I would like to generate my financial report in Botswana Pula or in both currency. Please help?

Generating reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO) will be based on the home currency set in your account, Themba. I'm here to discuss this further.

Foreign currency transactions when creating reports will be based on the currency set up in your account. However, we can modify several reports and add columns to display the Currency, Exchange rate, and Foreign Tax amount of the transactions on the report. You can follow the steps provided below to establish the columns, given that the report generated will be Transaction List Detail by Account:

  1. At the left panel, select Report.
  2. In the Find report by name tab, type in Transaction List Detail by Account.
  3. On the upper right, click Columns.
  4. Scroll down until you see Currency, Exchange rate, and Foreign Tax amount, then mark check the box.
  5. Once done, click on Save As.

Know that the report's total will continue to be determined by the home currency used. You can learn more about customizing reports in QBO in this material: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Alternatively, you can utilize a third-party reporting app to your QBO account to run your financial reports in foreign currency and home currency. You can follow this article for complete guidelines: Integrate apps in QuickBooks Online.

In addition, this helpful material can aid you when sharing app rights or disconnecting them in your QBO: Transfer app ownership or disconnecting apps in QuickBooks Online and Accountant.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have additional questions that I can address about generating reports in QBO, Themba. The Community will help out any time!
