We want to make sure to code the project under the Name column in the journal entry. This way, the journal would appear as part of the Project Profitability report.
Create or open a journal entry for the wage expenses. Then, add the project under the Name column. We'll want to make sure that the associated accounts are all coded to the project itself. This way, the entire transaction would show up on the report.
Here's a sample visual guide on what would happen:
Do you need more help in managing and tracking your project profitability? I'll add this article just in case: Track hourly labour costs and profitability by project in QuickBooks Online.
Aside from checking the Project Profitability report, we can also check the charts to see your business performance. I'll add this guide if you need help in the future: Create charts to see your business performance.
The thread's always open for replies, so feel free to drop by if you have more questions about your projects. Do you have any concerns about your entries and other reports? Lay down the details here and I'll work something out for you.
