Hi there, roland5.
In QuickBooks Online(QBO), the succeeding journal number is automatically assigned every time you create and save a new journal entry. However, any edited JE will remain unchanged unless modified.
After you edit your JE, ensure you've successfully saved it. If you experience the same thing after saving your JE, I can provide you with some troubleshooting steps for your browser to ensure your JE is saved. Your browser's cache may sometimes affect QBO's performance.
Here are some common steps that can resolve unexpected results in QBO:
If you can successfully log in using a private browser, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache.
Additionally, you can use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected.
If you want to reverse your journal entry to update it, or you created the JE by mistake. You can refer to this article: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QBO
Don't hesitate to comment or hit the Reply button, if you have further concerns about your JE. I'm always here to help you out.
