Why is the Total balance on the transaction listing different to the total balance on the Trial balance for most accounts in the same date range?

I'm preparing financials and want to pull a TB. I realised that the TB balance is missing some transactions that I have posted and which appear on the transaction listing.

Why is the Total balance on the transaction listing different to the total balance on the Trial balance for most accounts in the same date range?

The Transaction List report contains posting transactions recorded under the accrual accounting method. The Trial Balance includes all general ledger accounts. Any discrepancies in the total amount could be due to the chosen filter or accounting method, Ofents.

When running the Transaction List by Account and Trial Balance report, confirm that you have selected accrual as the accounting method and that the filter is set to "All."

You can also compare the two reports to identify and confirm any missing transactions.

  1. Open a duplicate tab for the QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Reports menu for both tabs. In one tab, select the Transaction List by Account report, and in the other tab, select the Trial Balance report.
  3. Select all dates and set both reports to the accrual accounting method. Then, compare the total transactions from each report.
