How to edit a filed vat return that was wrongfully filed

It's great to see you here today, @user02993

Editing a filed VAT return requires us to undo the tax filing first. This process needs assistance from our Customer Care Team. With this, I'd suggest emailing them. From there, they can help you unfile the VAT return so you can edit it. Please make sure to have your QuickBooks Online (QBO) Company ID and the filing period handy before performing the steps below.

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter Edit a VAT return that was incorrectly filed in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. Hit Let's talk
  5. Choose Start an email.
  6. Enter your contact information.
  7. Click Send email

Once done, you'll have the option to make any necessary changes. When you're ready, mark it as filed again.

Additionally, I recommend running any VAT reports from the Reports or Taxes menu. One of them is VAT Detail. It helps you review the transactions that are included in each box on the return. You can also modify its Report period so you can see the details of your sales and purchases for a particular date range.

I'm just a comment away if you need anything else. Enjoy the rest of your day, @user02993
