The graphs on the Dashboard are calculating based on deposits, expenses and transfers so may not give you the exact figures you are looking for. 

In its current state, I think it is important to view the dashboard as an indication only, with a comprehensive figure being available by running a Payroll Detailed Activity Report or Transactions by Tax Code Report.
