Can I undo ALL reconcilliations from the beginning?
Thank you
Hi there, RecCons.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I’d be glad to assist you with unreconciling all previous statements process so they will not throw off your records.
Yes, you can undo all reconciliations from the beginning. Please note that removing the transactions from the reconciled period might affect your beginning and ending balance on the previous and future reconciliations. I recommend reaching out to an accountant to help you identify the best way on how to delete previous bank reconciliations.
Then, if you’re currently using QuickBooks Online Accountant, you can use the Undo a reconciliation feature to unreconciled previous entries without manually editing individual transactions from within the register. To visually guide you through the steps, click on this link: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
However, if you're using the regular version, you'll have to manually remove the R (Reconciled) under the Check column to undo a reconciliation via the register. You can follow the steps shared above on how to perform the process.
Once done, start the reconciliation process again by following the instructions or details provided in this article: Reconcile your accounts. This also provides different guidelines that will help you fix any reconciliation errors.
Please let me know if you need additional help in reconciling your account or any QuickBooks concerns. I'm always here to help. Have a great day ahead.
