is it possible that after bank disconnects after 90 days and upon reconnection, bank balances do not match?

Nice to meet you, Mukesh.

I'll be pleased to offer some insights on addressing discrepancies in bank balances in QuickBooks Online (QBO) following reconnection.

Yes, it is possible for bank balances to not match in QuickBooks Online after a bank disconnects and is reconnected following 90 days. During the disconnection, any transactions that occurred may not have been recorded in QuickBooks, which can lead to discrepancies in balances once the bank is reconnected. Additionally, manual adjustments or changes in the bank's records during the downtime could also contribute to the mismatched balances.

To address discrepancies in bank balances in QBO, you'll need to perform manual updates. These updates download any new transactions from the past 90 days, ensuring the most current information is retrieved when you connect to your account, even if there are gaps between updates. To manually update banking transaction information:

  1. Go to Transactions and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select Update.
  3. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials and select Continue update. You must enter these credentials within 2 minutes of being prompted. Multi-factor authentication is any security precaution that requests more than a single username and password.

After reconnection, you'll need to review your bank statements by obtaining them for the period your bank was disconnected and comparing these statements with the transactions recorded in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Identify any transactions that appear on the bank statement in QBO, and manually enter these missing transactions into QBO to ensure all records are complete. Additionally, check for duplicate entries to ensure no duplicate transactions were entered during the manual update or after reconnection, and remove any duplicates to align your records accurately.

Following these steps allows you to resolve and rectify any discrepancies in your bank balances following a disconnection period in QuickBooks Online.
