Thanks for reaching out to us, accounts-chd.
It seems that you're referring to the missing bank description. If so, let me share some details on how to fix it.
First, please note that QuickBooks Online is dependent on what your bank provided to us. Although, there is also an option that we can turn on to show the bank info or the full description.
Go to the Banking/Transactions menu and select Banking.
Click the small Gear icon located on the banking page.
Put a checkmark in the Show bank details box.
If you need help, here's how to categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Post again here if you need anything else. Take care!
Thanks for your reply,
I am getting bank details in my narration but my concern is that instead of numbers i am seeing (XXXX). For your understanding i am pasting an example of actual bank narration and narration showing in my QB.
Narration in Bank : NEFT-FDRLH21079235835-ANU ANNA THAMPI-/-30100070694
Narration in QB: NEFT-FDRLHXXXXXXXXXX X-ANU ANNA THAMPI-/-XXXXXXXXXXX
So, These masked digits are getting more time to rectify the entry from bank and entering/matching it in Books.Kindly help me in showing these details as this error is only showing in one of my company and from 4 to 5 days previously it was all okay.
Hello @accounts-chd,
I appreciate you for getting back and adding more details about the problem. I know that rectifying entries from your bank takes time so let me share what I know regarding the banking section in QuickBooks.
There may be an update from your bank causing the figures to show as masked digits. When you link your account to QuickBooks, the details we download to the system depend on what your financial institution shares with us.
For now, I recommend speaking with your bank's support team about the problem. This way, they'll be able to verify the changes on your end and check if it's possible to revert to the way it was before.
Also, can you share with me the name of your bank? It will help us check if there's an ongoing issue related to data sharing.
I recommend visiting the following article to learn more about the formats you can use when importing banking data via CSV: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
