Hi there, @naas-datacolor.

I'm here to share some insights on why bank deposit's reference numbers are not showing up in the General Ledger.

The reference number of your bank deposit is not visible on the General Ledger report. It is because it only shows the general details of your transactions.

However, you can pull a detailed report like the Sales by Customer Detail report to see the reference number. You can do this by customizing the said report.

Here's how:

  1. Click on Reports at the left pane.
  2. Look for Sales by Customer Detail.
  3. Enter the Report period.
  4. Hit on the Setting icon on the report.
  5. Under Change columns, tick on Show More.
  6. Put a check mark for the Ref# box.
  7. Select on Run report.

To give you more details about customizing your financial reports depending on your desired data in QBO, please see this link: Learn how to get the most out of your financial reports.

Lastly, I'd like to share this great article that contains information on how QuickBooks generates the reports in the system: Targets vs. Sources overview.
