how do I import account names with my bank transactions ino quick books online using csv files?

Let me share some help regarding how to import your transactions, RonDV.

Directly importing your account names with bank transactions is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Before manually uploading your transactions, you'll need to import the account names first since transactions are to be stored here.

Afterward, you can manually transfer your transactions to your QBO company file through CSV. Check if it has the correct format before importing it.

Additionally, getting your CSV can be done by going to your bank's website and downloading it from there. Ensure that the date range is at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.

Here's how:

  1. After importing the account names, you can now go to the Transactions menu located within your left navigation panel.
  2. Choose the Bank Transactions tab.
  3. Click the Link account dropdown, then select Upload from the file.
  4. Press the Select Files or Drag and Drop options, then choose the downloaded file from your bank.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. From the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account to which you want to upload the transactions.
  7. Follow the onscreen process. Afterward, click Continue.
  8. Tick all the transactions, and then hit Continue.
  9. Press Yes, and then Done.

You can also check this article since it contains more information about importing your information in QBO: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

After importing your data, you can categorize them accordingly to keep your records accurate.
