Hi abhishek-abhi311,
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! We can only transfer lists of names, accounts, and products and services from one QBO company to another. You can refer to these articles:
As for your transactions, you can manually enter them or connect your bank account to download them. Those that won't be included in the download can be downloaded from your bank's website and uploaded to the Banking page in QBO.
Let me know if you have more questions in mind.
Hi Jess,
quick question: Can we migrate the data transaction by transaction instead of migrating the GL balances of the prior and current year to QuickBooks.
Thanks for joining in on this thread, @ID1607. Let me share my insights about migrating data between QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounts.
In QBO, we can only export reports and lists into individual Excel files contained in a zip format. Currently, we're unable to move specific transactions.
However, QBO supports diverse applications for any functionality you may need. That said, I'd suggest utilizing an exporter tool so you can transfer data transaction by transaction. Here's how to visit the App Center:
Furthermore, customise your report in QBO to export the information relevant to your business.
Let me know if you have further questions about migration. We're always here to respond to your concerns. Take care and have a great day!
@JaeAnnC Thank you for your revert. SO does that mean we can download transaction by transaction data in an excel, convert it into the format required by QB and then upload it in QB? or even that is not possible?
Thanks for getting back to us, ID1607.
Yes, you're right. You can download the transaction data in Excel. However, we can't directly convert it into QuickBooks Online (QBO). To accomplish this, you would need to rely on a third-party application to facilitate the import of data into QBO. Follow the steps given by my colleague above to get an app.
You can generate reports or access specific transaction data and export it to Excel in a compatible format, such as CSV (Comma-Separated Values) or Excel (.xlsx) files. Once you have the data in Excel, you can manipulate and organize it as required.
Moreover, I've added this article to learn more about the process of downloading data from QuickBooks: Export data, reports, lists, and more from QuickBooks Online.
I'm always here if you have any other questions about exporting data, ID1607. Just leave a reply below and I'll get back to you.
