Can I create a current assets account type and accounts receivable detail?

I've been trying to create an accounts receivable (QB standard account won't work for what I need it for) and then have the detail type be Accounts receivable, but for some reason it won't let me.

Can I create a current assets account type and accounts receivable detail?

Hello there, Rebecca.

Let's troubleshoot your browser to ensure it works efficiently with QBO so you can add a new Accounts Receivable account. I'm here to guide you through the troubleshooting steps.

Before that, let's ensure that you're creating a new account using a unique name, since QuickBooks won't allow the same name account. Next, let's proceed with troubleshooting your browser to ensure everything works perfectly.

Sometimes, our browser fills too much cache, which could cause malfunctions to some features or slow down a website. As of now, I can guide you on troubleshooting your browser to ensure it runs with QuickBooks efficiently. Let's start with accessing QuickBooks Online using incognito mode or a private window. Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N

For Firefox:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P

For Safari:

  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Otherwise, you can also use other supported browsers to ensure it runs QBO efficiently.

Furthermore, you can also consider reconciling an account to match your QB records with your bank statement and avoid discrepancies.

Let me know if you need help with reconciling them by replying below. We'd be glad to assist you anytime.
