Change Customer on Project

If you have many customers for the project,  can you switch between customers when you put expenses etc ? What happens with the info that you put under one customer? Will it stay there when you switch ?

Change Customer on Project

Hi Carina,

Thank you for joining the conversation. I'll provide information about switching customers on projects.

All transactions you create under a particular project will be tied up to the new customer. You may switch customers back and forth, but all transactions will always be tied up to the newly assigned customer. Old transactions will not stick to whoever customer they were previously assigned to.

Feel free to comment below if you have more questions about how Projects work in QBO. I'm just around to help.

Change Customer on Project

I recently upgraded my QB subscription so that I could have the Project's application. I am seriously disappointed with QB capabilities of updating this feature, as I am reading past posts from 2020 from other people who have had the same issues I am having related to this topic.

Quickbooks really sucks and I have such a love hate relationship with the program. It's effective in some ways and very ineffective in other ways. Getting basic updates such as this is impossible. We are three years into this topic and still nothing has been changed or accomplished.

Change Customer on Project

QBO has dropped the ball constantly. Promise being able to do certain things, if you only pay more money. QBO Advanced promised to do all sorts of things. To my experience, the workflows, expense reports, reporting BARELY works in the most basic applications, and once you want to add anything of slight variation (ie: mileage for expense reports) the whole system becomes inadequate quickly.

The project issue has been outstanding for 3 years. No updates... Looking at alternatives for QuickBooks online, I'll let you know my findings.
