Good day Team, Please I want to manage fixed asset on my QB. Have all my asset details and automate monthly depreciation. How can I do this?

Good Day, omido. You can utilize the Fixed assets feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to manage your asset details and their monthly depreciation values.

However, please note that this feature is only available in the QBO Advanced version.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Hover over your mouse to the My apps tab.
  3. Click on Accounting, and select Fixed assets.
  4. Choose between Add multiple assets or Add an asset.

  5. Fill in the necessary info.

  6. Once done, click Save.

After adding assets in QBO, it will automatically create the depreciation schedule, and the depreciation entries are posted on the 1st day of each month. (For example, the depreciation entries for June posts on July 1st).

Here's a sample asset's depreciation schedule:

Thank you very much for your response. The issue is I cant even see fixed asset option on my Accounting tab. There is no fixed asset option whatsoever from my end.
Has anyone had this issue before?

I appreciate the follow-up update, Omido. I'll outline two approaches to ensure we're on the same page.

Before we proceed, please know that the Fixed Asset feature is only available in the QuickBooks Online Advanced version.

To verify if you're using the Advanced version, please refer to the attached screenshot below.

Once confirmed that you're using the Advanced version, you can bookmark the Fixed Asset option for an alternative way to access it:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online account, click Bookmarks.
  2. Select the Edit button, then search for Fixed Assets.
  3. Tick the checkbox and click Save.

If you're using another version, this is why the Fixed Asset option isn't appearing on your end. In this case, I recommend
upgrading to the Advanced version to have this feature.

If you choose not to upgrade, you can still manually track depreciation and fixed assets. I recommend collaborating with your accountant on this process.
