How can I add the qty, rate and amount to an invoice? Just changing the template doesn't help

Your efforts are well appreciated, @LBarnLet's work together to find the best way for you to fill out the required fields on your invoices.

Let's check your invoice forms to ensure that you've already enabled all the necessary fields on your invoices. This step is crucial as it will allow you to see the fields when creating invoices:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Settings icon and select Custom form styles.

  3. Select the invoice template you're using, then click Edit.
  4. Select the Content tab and click on the middle part of the invoice form.
  5. Put a checkmark on the necessary fields such as Quantity, Rate, and Amount.

  6. Click Done.

On the other hand, if you've already enabled the necessary fields on your invoice templates, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to identify if this is a browser-related issue. Browsers may lead to unexpected behavior due to stored caches. In these situations, accessing your account in a private window can aid, as it ignores cached data.

These are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

If you can add details in the specific fields, let's return to your regular browser and clear its cache to restore. If the same thing happens, consider switching to a different supported browser.

Moreover, you may find this article helpful allowing you to keep an eye on your customer's outstanding balances and track them easily in the future: Run an accounts receivable aging report.

Keep us updated on your progress, and I'll be more willing to help if you have further questions about adding details to the invoice fields or any queries about managing invoices. Have a good one.
