How do I invoice in a different currency?

Hey there, @blueonion001.

I'll help you change your invoice currency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The currency of an invoice depends on the currency assigned to the customer profile. You can turn on the multicurrency feature to properly track transactions in QuickBooks.

Here's how to turn it on:

  1. Go to Settings and select Account and settings.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Select Edit ✎ in the Currency section and choose your Home Currency.
  4. Check the Multicurrency box and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  5. Click Save and close.

Once you turn multicurrency on, your Home currency is set and cannot be changed. Please know that this feature and foreign currencies are only available in QuickBooks Online Essentials and Plus subscriptions. If you're using the Simple Start version, I'd suggest upgrading your plan.

Also, currency can only be assigned to a customer when you create their profile. Therefore, the currencies of the existing ones are not changeable. If you assigned the wrong currency, better create a new profile for that customer.

Simply follow step 2 of this article to create and assign a new currency to the customer's profile: How do I assign currency for a customer in QBO?

Please let me know if you need clarification about this, or if there's anything else I can do for you. I'll be standing by for your response. Have a great day.
