I would like to know how to split the revenue from a single invoice over several months. I am aware that some systems have a "Revenue Recognition" feature

Let me share some insights about Revenue recognition, @Eng-essamalmo.

The option to set up a revenue recognition is only available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced. If you are currently using a different version of QuickBooks Online and wish to utilize the revenue recognition feature, you may consider upgrading your subscription.

Afterward, when you're done upgrading your subscriptions, you can enable the Revenue recognition. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and settings.
  3. Click Sales.
  4. In the Products and Services, click Edit.
  5. Select Save, then Done.

I also recommend reaching out to an accountant to seek advice on the other approach for this kind of transaction.

Feel free to read this article for more info: Set up a revenue recognition schedule in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

On top of this, I recommend reaching out to an accountant to seek advice on the other approach for this kind of transaction.
