Can I enter an Expense Claim transaction with a Foreign Currency when I have MultiCurrency enabled?

I would expect to be able top enter a Transaction Amount and select a Currency and the system to convert that to the Base Currency Amount as of the transaction date exchange rate.

Can I enter an Expense Claim transaction with a Foreign Currency when I have MultiCurrency enabled?

Thanks for visiting the Community today, ian.mcleod.

I'm here to share some details about recording expense claim transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We can create journal entries to record your transactions with foreign currency. Here's how:

  1. Click the + New button, then choose Journal entry.
  2. From the Currency dropdown, select the correct currency.
  3. On the first line, select an account from the Account Depending on if you need to debit or credit the account, enter the amount in the correct column.
  4. On the next line, select the other account you're moving money to or from. Depending on if you entered a debit or credit on the first line, enter the same amount in the opposite column.
  5. Enter the information in the memo section so you know why you made the journal entry.
  6. Select Save and new or Save and close.

For the best advice on how you can record it, I highly recommend seeking assistance from your accountant to ensure that your books are accurate and to avoid messing up the data. They'll be able to guide you in choosing the right accounts and provide more expert ways of dealing with this situation.
