Hello, I would like to add little project under big project, like QB desktop when we adding Job under other Job, How can i process please?

Hi, sherley-dorvilie. It's my pleasure to walk you through the process of adding projects in QuickBooks Online.

I see the convenience of creating a little project under a big project like you did in QuickBooks Desktop. However, please know that there are differences in the features offered since QuickBooks Online is a different product. Therefore, adding a small project under the big one is unavailable. Not to worry, I've got a workaround for you.

If you are currently using sub-customers to keep track of customer jobs, you can easily convert them into projects and utilize the job costing features to keep everything in one place. However, please note that any transactions made on the sub-customer's project page will only be displayed there, and not on the parent customer's project page. On the other hand, if you create transactions outside the project page or by using the Menu, they will be displayed in the customer's transactions with the entries under projects.2.png

To start,  turn on the Projects feature, then set up your sub-customer settings by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Customers.
  2. Create or locate the sub-customer, then click Edit.
  3. Make sure to tick the Is a sub-customer checkbox.
  4. Choose the Parent customer, which connects to the project account.
  5. Select the Bill parent customer checkbox.

After that, let's create a new project from a sub-customer to start with a clean slate. Any existing transactions won't transfer over. I'll show you how:

  1. On the Sales menu, pick Customers.
  2. Go to the Projects menu and select Convert from sub-customer on the New project ▼ dropdown.
  3. Choose the sub-customer you want to convert.
  4. Tap Convert and then Continue.

Additionally, ensure your sub-customer doesn't have any sub-customers. To proceed with checking, refer to this article: Change sub-customers into projects QuickBooks Online.

With this information, you should be able to add little projects under big projects in QuickBooks Online. If you need anything else, let me know. Have a great day.

@sherley-dorvilie

Consider having a 3rd party project management app to integrate with QBO. Otherwise, you should switching back to QB Desktop.
