How can I record shipping and freight costs from the purchase of Inventory items?

I receive a bill for shipping and a bill for customs duty and I would like to know how to go about recording in quickbooks

How can I record shipping and freight costs from the purchase of Inventory items?

I have another approach to how you can record the shipping and freight costs, faithhopelove.

 

For now, QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't handle landed costs. As a workaround, you can create a service item for shipping and freight charges. To do so, you can follow the steps below to guide you how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select the Product and services page.
  2. Press New, and choose Service.
  3. Enter the desired information, 
  4. Hit Save and close.

 

Once done, you now create a bill either in the Category details or Item details section. You'll just have to make sure to choose the correct account for the items or enter the correct products.

 

However, I still recommend reaching out to your accountant for other ways how you can record the costs.
