Setting the credit limit for your customers is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). But I've got a workaround you can perform to help achieve your goal.
Let's utilize the Notes field so you can manually enter the credit limit for your customers. I'll guide you how.

Lastly, you can run the Customer Contact List report and then customise it by adding the Note column. Doing so will help you include the notes to identify each customer's credit limit. I've attached a screenshot below on how it looks like in QBO.

If you are using an inventory management app, you may set a credit limit to each customer to manage their orders.
The answer about this question is not limitation but this is only annotation in the notes area for each customer. It will not restrict users from create invoices for customers above limit
