Currently, QuickBooks Online doesn't have the option to track the expiry of your items. While adding the item, you'll have to enter them manually. You can also check out 3rd party applications to help you enter them by batch.
Here's how:
You can also visit this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/, to search for the apps.
For more details in tracking your inventory, please see this article: Set up Inventory in QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, you can use reports to see your sales and inventory status. This helps you see your best sellers, what’s on hand, the cost of goods, and more.
I suggest getting back on this thread if you'll need assistance managing your inventory items. I'm always here to back you up.
Hi Thank you so much for your quick revert. The items we deal with are medicines where Expiry and Batch is utmost important and a legal requirement too. It would be great if i can get a solution within quickbooks rather than going in for a third party app.
QBO offers a limited feature to manage inventory. You may need an additional app.
when creating an item, add batch numbers and expiry date after ending the product name. So that you can choose this item in purchase and sales transaction. I hope it would help you. Thanks
The medicine sellers it must have the expire date option in order escape out any damages or fine from the government please it's too weak not add that option all medical companies it must have that option.
Pls add this option for this year.
Without this option the medical companies will face too many problems and your software will not effective as usual.
You make limited features in inventory such batch number and Expire dates.
Consider having an additional app to manage inventories with the expiry dates.
Which Apps ????
Explore the batch tracking feature available in this app. It costs USD 99/month for 5 users.
then utilize a connector to sync data to your QBO account.

There is another option but I am not sure yet whether it supports QBO Global version or not. It costs USD 109/month for 3 users + 5 devices.
Contact us in private if you interest to explore it. We will introduce you directly to the app developer in the US.
Why you just don't add this feature and get paid more for the current plans???
I can say that certain inventory management features (e.g expiry dates, UoM, bin location) are "expensive" and we hardly find these features in other accounting cloud-based apps without add-ons.
