Why is quickbooks adding the deposits and random journal entries of cash deposits in Sales? Only total of all invoice values should appear as total sales, right?

Even when we did not raise a new invoice still the total sales amount is changed and its not the same a month ago

I'll provide further details regarding this, @bhagyashree-adma

Yes, you're right. The system will display all the invoices and sales receipts to calculate the total "Sales" amount on the Dashboard. Your random journal entries and other income transactions like bank deposits won't appear.

The browser may be full of frequently accessed page resources. It may cause unusual behavior in QBO, such as the total amount in the Sales section isn't calculating correctly.

Before performing the troubleshooting steps below, let's first run the Sales by Customer Summary/Detail report. This way, you can review the details of your sales graph. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports from the left menu.
  2. Enter Sales by Customer Summary/Detail in the Search box and select it.
  3. Set the Report period. Be sure the date range on the report and the said graph match.
  4. Click Run Report.

Here's a sample screenshot of the details in the said report and my total amount in the Sales section:

Then, I'd suggest signing in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account through an incognito window. It's a great way to isolate browser-related issues since it doesn't store data in the cache.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

From there, go back to the Dashboard menu to check if the total amount in the Sales section is calculating correctly. If yes, let's clear your main browser's cache to have a clean slate, so it'll function efficiently. If not, use other supported web engines to help resolve this.

Once done, there are other tasks you can perform from the Dashboard by using the + New button. To learn more about them, check out this article: Overview

Also, I recommend customising the said report to focus on the details that matter the most to you.
