Chart of Accounts is the complete list of all the company's accounts and balances. In QuickBooks Online, it represents and organizes the company's assets, liabilities, income, and expenses. This way, you'll know how much money your company has, how much money it owes, and how much money is coming in.
Click the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
Select New in the top right corner.
Click on the Account Type drop-down to select the account type.
Select the Detail Type to specify the type of account that you want to add.
Give your new account a name. You can use the info under the detail type to add a name that fits.
If you’re adding a sub-account, select Is sub-account and then enter the parent account.
You have the option of including information in the Description field and an amount in the Balance field.
