Can you help us figure out which version of QB we have?

Sure, Nataliia! I’d be happy to help you identify which version of QuickBooks Online (QBO) you’re using based on region.

There are a couple of easy checks we can make to figure it out. First, we can look at the currency settings in your QuickBooks account by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and click Account and settings.
  2. From the Advanced tab, go to the Currency section.
  3. Here, you’ll see your home currency:
  • If it shows United States Dollar (USD), you’re likely using the American version of QBO.
  • If it displays British Pound Sterling (GBP) or another currency like Euro (€), that indicates you're using the European version.

You can also double-check your address from the Company tab.

Another way is to check for VAT or Sales Tax. Here's how:

  1. On the left-hand side of your QBO, click on Taxes/My apps.
  2. If you see VAT (Value Added Tax) options, that's a strong clue that you're using the European version.
  3. If it says Sales Tax, you're likely using the American version designed for U.S. tax regulations.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to confirm what version of QuickBooks you're currently subscribed based on region. Knowing this ensures you’re working with the right tools and features best suited for your business’s needs.
