How to transfer data from admin file to client file?

Hi there. I'll provide information about transferring QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to clients.

Before anything else, can you tell us more about the data from the admin file that you wish to transfer to your clients?

If you're an accountant in QBO, and the clients provided you with admin access to their company files to manage their books, you'll want to reassign the admin rights back to your clients so they can utilize the data inside the account. For more details, please see this page: Change the primary admin user in QuickBooks Online.

However, if you're referring to transferring the monthly billing subscription back to your client, you'll want to remove them from your ProAdvisor discount plan and transfer the admin rights so they can start paying for their subscription. These are the steps:

  1. Transfer the Admin rights back to your clients.
  2. Access QuickBooks Online Accountant
  3. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon
  4. Click Subscriptions and billing.
  5. Select Accountant-billed subscriptions tab.
  6. Choose the client you want to remove.
  7. Click the Dropdown arrow below the Action column, and then select Transfer billing to client.
  8. Once done, click the Confirm transfer button.

Additionally, here's an article to help you manage your ProAdvisor profile: Update and enhance your ProAdvisor profile in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

If you're referring to something else, our team encourages you to comment below so we can respond and provide the details needed to address your concern. Keep safe.
