The backup and restore option is only available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced. You can do it through the Gear icon.

If you're using QBO Advanced and it's unavailable, I suggest backing up your data through a private window to narrow down the result. You can use either of these keyboard shortcuts to save you time:

• Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N  
• Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: press Command + Shift + N

However, if you have QBO Plus, Essentials, or Simple Start, you may look for a third-party app that can do QuickBooks Online backups. Alternatively, you can save a copy of your data on your computer by exporting your reports and lists.

Here's how:

1. Sign in to your account as an admin.
2. Go to the Gear icon from the toolbar.
3. Under Tools, select Export Data.
4. On the Reports tab, set the date range.
5. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider.
6. Tap on Export to Excel.
