Why am I getting this message "Error Loading Transaction - Please Try Later" quite often when editing an invoice?

Let me share ways to help you fix the error message you're encountering with your invoices in QuickBooks Online(QBO), @rezah-c.

 

If you're trying to edit recurring invoices, we have an ongoing investigation about getting an error loading transaction- please try again later. Our engineers are diligently doing their best to fix it immediately.

 

In this case, I recommend contacting our Technical Support team to add you to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive email updates on the investigation's status. Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select the Help (?) menu.
  3. In the Assistant window, typeTalk to a humanin the field.
  4. EnterGetting an Error message while editing an invoice,then go to the Contact option.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

 

On the other hand, if it's not a recurring invoice, we can perform browser troubleshooting steps to fix the error. Your browser's cache and cookies become corrupted, leading to errors or unexpected behaviors.

 

Let's start accessing your QBO account using an incognito/private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

If the private browsing session works, clear the browser's cache to restart the system. This can be done in other supported,  up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will refresh the system and help resolve issues caused by stored cache and cookies.
