QBO Pro-Advisor or Accountant Version

Thanks for your interest in being part of QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, @SBAS4U

There is no QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) for QBO Global version. You may notice there are different QB communities. Each community has a specific QBOA version (e.g UK, AU, India, Singapore, South Africa).  You may have 3 options:

  1. Your client uses QBO Global version and invites you as a Company Admin. They may set you as the Accountant to save their available seats.
  2. Your client uses the QBD US version and you have the QBD US Accountant version. Both of you may purchase a one-time license QBD 2021.
  3. You have a one-time license of the QBD US Accountant version. You may deploy a private cloud at your premise or put your license and company file(s) on QB cloud hosting. Your clients will access their data by internet connection.

Please, check it here for more info: FAQ: Product Regions in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

If you are already subscribed to the Accountant version of QuickBooks Online, you can read this article for more information: About QuickBooks Online Accountant features.

For more information about ProAdvisor certification, you can check the following resources. This will provide you links to help you get certified as well as how to sign up for their courses:

QBO Pro-Advisor or Accountant Version

Thank you lollynino. I’m a pro advisor in the USA. I want to replicate my practice in the Dominican Republic, but the tax laws and the record keeping are different. If the client get the DR version, will I be able to have a portal with all the clients, assign clients to specific employees, assign work to employees, and track their time?

Allow me to join the conversation and share some information about the tasks you can perform in your clients' QuickBooks, SBAS4U.

When your customer in the Dominican Republic subscribes to QuickBooks Online (QBO), they can add you as one of the authorized users (company admin). You will have access to all areas of the company and will be able to perform all accounting tasks, except editing or removing the primary admin's access. Thus, you will not have a portal with all the clients and will be unable to assign clients to specific employees.

You can read the User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online guide for additional resources. You'll then learn what each user can do in the company, including which parts they can manage.

For future reference, see the following reference: Add an accountant to review your QuickBooks Online accounting. It walks you through the entire process of adding and removing accountant users in your client's company. Furthermore, our online resources include topics that will guide you on how to handle any accounting activities, particularly in the international version.

If you have further questions about using the global version for QBO or other product-related concerns, leave a comment below. I'll get back to answer them for you. I wish you continued success with your business.
