Hi @jlindsay,
I'm here to walk you through on how you can upgrade to QuickBooks Enterprise v18.0.
You'll first need to download the said version on your computer, then activate it using the license you have. See this page: Downloads & Updates. It should readily pull up QuickBooks Enterprise v18.0, so you simply need to click the Download button.
In the middle of the installation process, it will ask for the license key. Enter the one you have so you can activate the product.
Once you're done with these, see this article: Upgrade your company files after switching to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop. It's a step by step guide on how you can upgrade your QuickBooks Enterprise company file from your current to your latest version installed.

Thank you for the information.
So just to confirm. I do need to upgrade to version 18 before going to the latest version? what is the latest version i'm licensed for and how do i find the installer for it? it says "QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Subscription Standard - Latest Version" in my account.
If your subscription plan is active, you may find the license info of QB 2017-2020 in your CAMPS. You can upgrade QB2017 directly to the lastest version available in your CAMPS (i.e 2019 or 2020). Make sure its system requirement meets yours.
Thanks for getting back to us, Jack.
You can upgrade directly to the 2020 version. However, there are instances that the data may be damaged due to the feature differences. We always recommend upgrading it first to the supported version, which is 2018. Then, upgrade to the latest version.
If you have the license for 2018, install the program and upgrade it. Here's a link where you can download the program: Download QuickBooks Desktop.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions or other concerns. Take care and stay safe.
thank you for this information.
One last thing. is it advisable to uninstall v17 before installing version 18 and likewise for 18 to 20? or should the previous version remain installed?
Regards
Jack
You may keep your QB 2017 for the time being and uninstall it later once you don't need it any longer.
